THRIVE ON! Network Inc. (THRIVE ON!) is proud to announce that ONE STRIKE, a transplanted initiative under its Rootwork incubator, has been awarded a $12,500 grant from Kingston Common Futures. The funding will go toward the purchase of a van, covering half of its total cost.

A Milestone Moment
This grant marks the first major funding award for ONE STRIKE since joining Rootwork, and represents a milestone for the initiative’s growth. With Rootwork’s fiscal sponsorship and organizational support, ONE STRIKE was able to secure and manage the grant—demonstrating how the incubator model helps grassroots projects access resources that might otherwise be out of reach.
Why a Van Matters
The new van will serve as a critical tool for ONE STRIKE’s work, allowing the team to:
Transport youth and families to and from pop-up programs.
Carry supplies, materials, and equipment for events.
Expand programming into new neighborhoods across Kingston.
“Mobility is the lifeline of community programs,” said Keyvious Avery, President of THRIVE ON!. “This van will allow ONE STRIKE to bring joy, leadership, and support directly to families wherever they are—and it proves how Rootwork can turn grassroots visions into funded realities.”
Rootwork in Action
As Rootwork’s support continues, ONE STRIKE is building the stability and capacity needed to move from pop-up events to a sustained movement. This grant is the first of many steps toward a future where every Kingston neighborhood can benefit from their model of youth-and-family-centered programming.
