THRIVE ON! and Children’s Home of Kingston Complete Two Weeks of Incredible Work Together
THRIVE ON! Network Inc. (THRIVE ON!) and the Children’s Home of Kingston (CHK) recently completed two weeks of collaboration that brought CHK’s Adjunct Early Thrivers into the heart of THRIVE ON!’s community projects. The result was a powerful mix of hands-on contributions, creative expression, and deeper connection to the PonckHockie neighborhood.

Discovering PonckHockie Through Scavenger Hunts
Beyond physical work, CHK youth also participated in community scavenger hunts, designed to introduce them to the hidden beauty and cultural gems of PonckHockie. These explorations deepened their sense of place, allowing them to see firsthand the richness of the community they were serving.
Painting Pathways to Community
The group capped off their two-week immersion by painting the accessibility ramp at Community Action of Ulster County, the host site for the PonckHockie Market. This act of care not only refreshed a vital community resource but symbolized the role youth can play in making public spaces more welcoming and vibrant.
A Model for Meaningful Collaboration
“This experience showed us what the Adjunct Early Thrivers route is all about,” said Keyvious Avery, President of THRIVE ON!. “Youth from CHK weren’t just helping out—they were creating beauty, building infrastructure, and connecting with the community in ways that advance our shared vision.”
The collaboration represents the growing partnership between THRIVE ON! and CHK, and highlights how THRIVE ON!’s Early Thrivers framework can create meaningful, project-driven pathways for young people across different organizations.
