Turn Learning Into Community Practice

thrive on activities

THRIVE ON! partners with schools, colleges, and universities that want students to learn with communities, not just about them.

We work with educators to design credit-bearing, community-rooted experiences that are rigorous, ethical, and aligned with real projects led by youth and grassroots leaders. Our approach prioritizes continuity, accountability, and care—for students and communities alike.

How Schools & Universities Get Involved

Institutions most often engage with THRIVE ON! through Curriculum-to-Community, a pathway within the Early Thriver Program that connects coursework to real community work.

Partnerships may include:

  • Credit-bearing field placements or practica

  • Co-designed courses or modules

  • Community-engaged learning projects

  • Graduate or undergraduate placements

  • Longer-term partnerships that span multiple semesters or years

We work closely with faculty and administrators to ensure placements meet academic requirements while remaining community-accountable.

What Makes This Different

Our partnerships are designed to avoid extractive or short-term placements.

At THRIVE ON!:

  • Students contribute to real projects with continuity and support

  • Community leaders retain ownership and direction

  • Learning includes reflection, supervision, and accountability

  • Institutions gain a reliable, values-aligned partner, not a one-off site

Community is not a “learning lab.”
It is a partner.
