Volunteers & Mentors
Share Time, Skills, and Care—With Intention
THRIVE ON! welcomes volunteers and mentors who want to contribute in ways that are grounded, respectful, and aligned with community leadership.
Volunteering and mentoring here is not about saviorism or one-off help. It’s about showing up with humility, consistency, and a willingness to learn alongside young people and grassroots leaders.

How Volunteers & Mentors Get Involved
Opportunities are shaped around real needs across our programs and projects. Roles may include:
-
Mentoring Early Thrivers
Offering guidance around career pathways, skills, or life transitions. -
Project Support
Supporting community-rooted projects through Rootwork (research, coordination, facilitation, logistics). -
Food & Community Initiatives
Helping with markets, kitchens, distributions, or community events when support is needed. -
Professional Skills Support
Sharing skills such as communications, finance, design, facilitation, data, or operations.
Some roles are short-term.
Some are ongoing.
All are relationship-based and scoped with care.

What Mentorship Looks Like Here
Mentorship at THRIVE ON! is about walking alongside, not directing.
We ask mentors to:
-
Respect youth leadership and lived experience
-
Offer guidance without control
-
Commit to consistency and follow-through
-
Understand the systems youth are navigating
-
Ask questions as often as they give advice
Mentors are supported by THRIVE ON! staff and are never expected to carry responsibility alone.
You do not need to be an expert.
You do need to be reflective, reliable, and respectful.

Get Started
We don’t place volunteers or mentors immediately.
We start with alignment.
Use the form below to tell us:
-
What you’re interested in offering
-
How much time you realistically have
-
Whether you’re drawn to mentoring, volunteering, or both
-
Any skills or experience you’d like to share
We’ll follow up when opportunities align.
What Happens Next
After you submit:
-
We review alignment and current needs
-
We follow up when there’s a good fit
-
We set clear expectations before any engagement begins
Not everyone is placed immediately—and that’s okay. We prioritize right fit and sustainability.
When offered with care, volunteering and mentorship can strengthen people, projects, and communities alike.
Thank you for considering being part of this work.
